Dear Friends,
It’s a matter of pride to serve as Secretary of Odisha State Ophthalmological Society, but at the same time it confers huge responsibility to make the society match with present day ophthalmic societies of other states - technologically, scientifically and socially. Hence, from day one, we have started working with the first step making the Odisha Journal of Ophthalmology see the light of the day and we transferred funds to Medknow publishers to make the process kick-start.
We tried to explore and upgrade the website of OSOS to incorporate all the scientific activities, events of past, present and future , details of awards including new awards like innovations in ophthalmology and PG thesis award for young researchers of the state. We are also updating scientific agenda for each month. The scientific activities of the state society needs to be properly documented and conveyed to AIOS each month which can fetch us an award on monthly basis or annually. Hence, I would like to request all concerned to act in this regard sincerely.
We have initiated the process of rectification of details of already registered members of the society and developing a system to directly upload the personal data and register as new members for the interested ones. A payment gateway for transfer of funds for new registrations has been initiated for the same.
The executive committee and LOC of OSOCON 2022 have already discussed to give a new face to the scientific programme of the annual conference of OSOS which is going to be held at RAIL auditorium Bhubaneswar at 26th and 27th November. I must thank the entire team of office bearers for their enthusiastic and active participation for all the activities of OSOS that are being undertaken.
I wish the LOC of OSOCON 2022 all the best for a wonderful conference ahead.
Long live OSOS.
